In Micah 1:10-16, Micah continues his warnings of impending judgment coming against Judah. But he does so through the use of word plays. He riffs off the names of the towns to pronounce the judgment.

Here are the names of the towns:

• Gath = “Tell”
  So verse 10, “Tell it not in Gath” would be like saying “Tell it not in Tell”
• Beth-le-aphrah = “House of Dust”
• Saphir = “Beauty”
• Zanaan = “Come out”
• Beth-ezel = “House of Protection”
• Maroth = “Bitter”
• Lachish = “Team of Warhorses”
• Moresheth-gath = “One who is Betrothed, Bride-To-Be”
• Achzib = “Deception”
• Mareshah = “Conqueror”

But in the judgment, he also alludes back to those times when David went into hiding from Saul (v10 in Gath, v15 in the caves of Adullam) to remind us that God will be faithful to preserve his people and the line of his anointed king, David.
