The first person to see the resurrected Jesus was Mary Magdalene, a pretty anonymous woman. She had only been mentioned by name one time during Jesus ministry (Luke 8:2 tells us that Jesus healed her from demon-possession). But it is her presence at the cross and at the empty tomb the changes everything. She is forever connected to the death and resurrection of Jesus. In this message from John 20:11-18 and encounter between Jesus and Mary Magdalene, we learn three things about what we can expect when we meet the risen Jesus.

When we meet the risen Christ:

• Jesus honors our tears and meets us in them
• Jesus reveals himself as Shepherd, Teacher, and Savior
• Jesus calls us to testify to others that we have met the risen Christ
